Happy 2015!

It’s a brand new year and we’re quite excited!  We thoroughly enjoyed 2014 – our first full year of operations which saw us hosting over 600 guests!! We were delighted to host travel agents, travel journalists, history buffs, foodies, chefs, and well, just every day folks, curious and hungry for a taste of Jamaican food and local culture. Our guests hailed from North America, Europe and as far away as Australia, and ranged from 9 months old to 82 years young! We loved them all, and in return, we got not only lots of bright smiles to show for it, but loads of Five Star Reviews! (Click Here to see Trip Advisor Reviews)

We also hit the streets throughout 2014 to tell you what was happening on the culinary scene in Jamaica. We couldn’t do it all (got to watch those waistlines!), but we did manage to squeeze in an Epicurean Escape over looking the Caribbean Sea, Kingston Kitchen – our favourite food fair showcasing the best of the capital’s Chefs and culinary fare, the Annual Pan Chicken Championships where we were near drunk from the delicious and heady fumes of jerk chicken, and of course we couldn’t miss Restaurant Week Out which offered an entire week of decadent restaurant hopping. We also hit a number of local markets, and made a number of new finds including up and coming organic markets, and a whole range of new and innovative culinary products. All our stops were delighhtfully delicious, and all were reminders of just how much the Jamaican cuisine scene is exploding! (Or as we would say in Jamaican parlance – “De ting tu’n up”!)

Of course we at Jamaica Culinary Tours also intend to “tu’n tings up in 2015, so watch this space for details. In the meantime, here’s a look at some of the cultural and culinary events coming your way in the first half of 2015.
